One bright day, Solar Fields dived into his studio archives. There he discovered a wealth of sounds. Aside and forgotten these little gems had been long waiting their discovery.
Ultimae Records compiled them into an album called Origin #02. It is the second chapter in a series of four retrospective albums presenting the hidden gems in Solar Fields sounds.
The album is an amalgam of cosmic sounds composed between, 2003 to 2009. I tip toed into the album to discover a groovy palette of rhythms. Never had I heard, a haunting from the past sound so sweet.
The tracks are listed in a beautiful order. I hear, I rehear. Then, I start creating a pattern of my own. I unfold my journey to you.
My fingers dance as I hear, Active Sky and Lifebook, both composed in 2003.
I form vivid pictures listening to Active Sky. My mind rotates with the earth. While, a monsoon sky conspires a strong pour. The thunder shouts its arrival. Water pours, dancing down. And in it, all find solace.
I listen to Lifebook after. It furthers my mind. I picture myself dancing to the rain, Active Sky created. The rain falls hard, the rain falls slow, and I dance. It turns into a slow drizzle, but the Sky is not ready to rest. The forces of the earth bring it to a halt.
Have you noticed what happens to land after rain? It breathes with life. It boils with life. Water trickles in. The roots drink water drop by drop. Laughing at its sweetness. In Surface composed in 2007, I hear the roots beat, like hearts do in deep laughter.
The grass and trees sway. It’s time for them to dance. They twist and turn with quick writhing movements. They befriend the wind. They ask the rain to come again, and to come soon. Landform was composed in 2005.
After the ordeal, a deep calm ascends over the earth. The Missing composed in 2006, takes my story ahead. The fury of the sky settled, the dances settled, the earth falls in a slow limbo. Tells me, the night is coming.
Night comes smooth. The sky changes colour, like an overworked artists palette. Deeper and deeper till, I see the stars winking at me. Mystic Science and Unknown Presence composed in 2007 and 2008, herald the night together.
The night casts its spell on the earth. Lullabies are sung. Only in calm slumber, do dreams steam up. Stories of my day fall like shadows to the night. Falling Shadows was composed in 2005.
I breathe in, I breathe out. Another day must follow. Asteroid brings that smooth transition between light and darkness. The horizon is clearer.
The sun must break the slumber. Daylight peeps in through small holes. Eyes open, bells ring, cups of tea trink. The night is lost in an Echo, composed in 2009.
It’s a cycle!
